The Tovertafel

The Bow Island & District Health Foundation extends a special thanks to the Bow Island Legion for a very generous donation towards the Tovertafel Project. The Tovertafel (described below) will be utilized on both Continuing Care and Alfred Egan Home.

The Tovertafel - An Interactive and playful care tool is a product of the Tover Company
Created in the Netherlands by Dr. Hester Le Riche, Tovertafel, which means "magic table" in Dutch, is a care solution for elderly people with Alzheimer's disease or cognitive disorders based on research and co-creation with collective living environments.
The Tovertafel projects interactive games and vibrant images onto a surface. The varied games react to the players' movements and have one thing in common: they serve a useful purpose in addition to providing joy and entertainment.
The design of the Tovertafel is based on proven advances and utilize state-of-the-art technology:
